Westboro is an area in the west end of Ottawa, Canada. It's located along the Ottawa River and has a population of 21,280. The neighbourhood got its start in the late nineteenth century, when flyers were published proclaiming 'Move to Westboro,' and offering prospective residents 'views of the Laurentian Mountains.' This slightly creative name for the distant geological formation along the Eardley escarpment is now better known as the Gatineau Hills. The Gatineau Hills can be seen across the Ottawa River.
WestFest - Westfest is an annual three-day celebration of Canadian art and culture. The event shows off a variety of artistic disciplines, such as music, contemporary dance, visual art, media art, performance art, spoken word, poetry and fiction readings, Aboriginal art forms, children's entertainment, buskers, street performers, and much more.
Canadian War Museum - The Canadian War Museum is Canada's national museum of military history and one of the world's most respected museums for the study and understanding of armed conflict. The Museum traces its origins back to 1880, when it consisted primarily of a collection of militia artifacts.
RBC Bluesfest - The RBC Bluesfest has grown to become the landmark event of the Ottawa summer and one of the top-ten music festivals in the world, according to Billboard Magazine. The ongoing love affair between the 'fest and its fans continues to this day. The multi-day event is fun for the whole family.
